RightSeat

Privacy policy

Effective 16 September 2026

RightSeat is operations software for flight schools, simulator centers, charter operators, maintenance shops, and eVTOL operators. This policy explains what the RightSeat web application, the RightSeat mobile apps, and getrightseat.com collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written for the people who use RightSeat at work and for the organizations that run it.

Who is responsible for your data

Your organization (the flight school, operator, or shop that gave you your login) decides what is recorded in RightSeat and who may see it. RightSeat processes that information on the organization's behalf. Questions about a specific record, or about your organization's own policies, go to your organization first. Questions about RightSeat's handling of data go to support@getrightseat.com.

What we collect

What we do not collect

How we use it

To run the product: signing you in, showing you the schedule, records, and tasks your role allows, syncing what you did offline, and notifying you about things that need your attention. To keep it secure and reliable. To support you when you ask. To meet the record-keeping duties that apply to flight training and aircraft maintenance.

Offline data on your device

The mobile apps keep a copy of the records you are working on so you can grade, review, and sign when there is no connection. That copy is stored in the app's private storage on your device, separated per signed-in person, and is synced to your organization's RightSeat account when a connection returns. Signing out keeps the copy on the device until the app is removed; anyone else signing in on that device cannot see it.

Who sees it

People in your organization, according to the roles your organization sets. RightSeat staff, only when needed to support you or to keep the service running, and never for marketing. Service providers that host and deliver the product for us (cloud infrastructure and email delivery), bound to use the data only to provide their service. Authorities, if your organization is required to produce records to them, or if we are legally compelled.

How long we keep it

For as long as your organization's account is active, and afterwards for as long as aviation record-keeping rules require your organization to retain the records, after which they are deleted. Demo accounts and their data are removed when the demo ends. Sign-in and security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

Your choices

Security

All traffic between the apps and RightSeat is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Signatures and sign-offs are attested with a personal PIN that is stored as a hash and never shown to anyone. Access inside RightSeat is limited by role and, where your organization chooses, by base.

Children

RightSeat is a workplace product and is not directed at children under 13. Flight students who are minors are enrolled by their school, and their records are handled under the school's own policies.

Changes

When this policy changes we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell organizations through the product.
